ADVERTISING ARTICLES FOR BUSINESS:

Best Practices in Direct Mail Advertising for Miami FL Businesses - By: Businesslocallistings

Direct mail advertising is a versatile and measurable marketing technique that provides a higher return on investment (ROI) than other advertising and marketing schemes, expanding the company’s client base and increasing sales. It has proven to be more cost effective, too, since it sends the advertising and marketing message of the company directly to the target audience at lower costs. Following are some best practices in direct mail advertising that businesses in Miami FL can learn from and apply.

The first thing to do before embarking on your direct mail advertising campaign in Miami FL is to clearly identify your campaign’s business objective. Do you aim to attract new clients or is your priority the introduction of more of your products to your existing client base in order to expand their buying patterns? Are you focused on increasing the sales of certain specified products or do you want to increase sales across your entire product range? Defining your goals will result in a streamlined campaign with measurable results. It will also translate into savings since there will be no wasted efforts.

Make sure that your direct mail advertising campaign contains messages that will be perceived by your Miami FL target audience as personal. Consumers find personal messages more effective. Personalized letters sent to individuals are less likely to be regarded as junk mail.

The messages in your direct mail advertising campaign should succinctly present the benefits of your products or services over those of your competitors in Miami FL. Be careful that while your message shows the superiority of your products or services, it should not seem arrogant. Pompousness will backfire on your company.

An effective way of getting the attention of your target audience in a direct mail advertising campaign is by giving them an incentive such as a gift of a free item or a significant discount. You can offer this to entice new customers to try your products or services. You can also do this to reward your loyal customers in Miami FL and strengthen your relationship with them. It is easier to convince existing customers to try your other products than to get new customers to try any of your products. You should, therefore, maximize your existing ties with clients.

Of course, your direct mail advertising campaign should prominently display all the means by which your target audience can get in touch with your company in order for your message to be concretely and successfully converted into real sales. Make sure your phone numbers, fax numbers, email address, website and physical business address in Miami FL are all shown in your materials.

No matter how great your message is, it needs repetition to be truly effective. Your direct mail advertising campaign should not consist of merely one batch of bulk mail. You should plan a sustained direct mail advertising campaign, with each batch of business mailings in Miami FL addressing a particular goal.

A sustained direct mail advertising campaign is laborious. When sending business mailings by bulk mail, you will have to stuff hundreds or perhaps thousands of envelopes and address each one. Instead of tying up your staff in these tasks, free them to be more productive in doing their core assignments. It is more cost effective for your company to get the business mailing services of a professional mail house that offers more than mere postal services. Choose a mail house that offers complete mailing services and fulfillment services such as presort services and catalog mailing.

These best practices in direct mail advertising have been proven effective by businesses in Miami FL. Make them work for your business, too.

Trade Show Tips: Banner Stands Can Help You Get Noticed! - By: Chris Robertson

If you're on a tight budget and need to draw some new business to your trade show booth, banner stands offer an affordable marketing solution. Banner stands can help you draw targeted prospects without your saying a word. They can provide clear statements and presentations about your products to cause interest in those who pass by your booth. Whether you're new to trade shows or simply have a very limited advertising budget, these tips will show you some creative ways to use banner stands effectively.

Obtain Leads with Banner Promotions

Use several banner stands to promote a contest drawing or special giveaway. This will enable you to obtain qualified leads for your business. With giveaways you can provide a pen and a small form asking for visitors' names, addresses and phone numbers. Collect these in a box for a special drawing. This gives you an automatic contact for persons interested in your products. Let them know you will notify them by mail of the winner. Everyone can win something as a second prize if you want to keep ongoing contact with these potential customers. Another way to obtain leads is to offer a free product by mail and ask for the mailing address of each visitor. It can be a free gift, a free information packet with samples, etc.

An example: Your business is selling printed promotional products to businesses, such as pens, apparel, calendars, notepads, magnets, etc. You decide to give away a free set of 25 custom-printed pens to each business owner for their participation. You can advertise the giveaway on your banner stand to grab the attention of business owners who pass by your booth.

Another example: You decide to have a drawing for 100 free printed calendars for the upcoming year. You can advertise this drawing on your banner stand and welcome anyone who owns a business to participate. Of course, the winner will be notified by mail, or you can have the drawing at a certain time while at the trade show. Either way, you've acquired the names and addresses of other potential clients.

Advertise Special Offers

Use banner stands to notify passers-by of your special offers. A neatly printed banner with bright colors and well-written copy can easily grab extra visitors. You can place three or four banner stands near your trade show booth, and even use a telescopic, tabletop banner stand to let customers know which of your products are on sale.

If your goal is to simply draw visitors so you can verbally educate them about your products or ideas, use banner stands to stir their curiosity. Let's pretend you're trying to promote a special charity that helps provide real-hair wigs for cancer patients. You would like to receive donations or work with business owners to get the word out about your organization. In this case, banners can be displayed showing the wigs and telling a little about your cause, and how businesses can get involved.

Advantages of Banner Stands

Banner stands provide you with a portable - and very noticeable - ad everywhere you go. You can easily display custom, eye-catching banners at trade shows, conferences, office foyers, restaurants, hotel lobbies, reception areas, or in a retail store. They are easy to set up and take down, and the portable or retractable banner stands are lightweight. Banner stands also come in a variety of styles and sizes to meet the demands of your business. Look for retractable or roll up banner stands and outdoor banner stands if you plan to use them mostly at trade shows. Outdoor banner stands are durable with a heavier base, and can withstand wind gusts if displayed outdoors.

Sizes range from 19 inches wide to 72 inches wide, and some are up to 10 feet tall. With telescopic banner stands, you'll be able to adjust the height for floor displays, on-stage displays or tabletop displays.

Banner stands are versatile, and will easily fit into your trade show marketing budget. Try one out to see what type of attention it draws to your booth. You'll likely rush to get a few more once you realize the effectiveness of these simplistic advertising tools!

Different types of Signage - By: Vincent Alvarez

There are various uses of signage and different types of signage too. Every company will always have their trademark name as a sign post so you will always find different names everywhere. A sign is very important as otherwise people will never be able to find a particular place. Earlier signs were made out of wood and paint, today they are electronic and with colourful lighting and immediately draw your attention.

Different types of Signage
Name Sign
The first thing that is recognisable about a building is the name sign. May it be a hospital, church, school or a company if there isn’t a sign outside then people will never be able to locate it in the first place. A name sign also sometimes has a few more details like trademarks, address, or some catchy slogan of the company or place. This is an important tool required even for brand building. The famous “M” of McDonald’s burgers became famous only after it was used on the signage.

Logo
Many companies also have the logo as a sign on the building, like the three pointed star of Mercedes Benz will always let you know which building you are entering. Logos are the easiest way of recognising a brand and if you have it as a sign then it is all the better for brand building and advertising. A cool and innovative logo sign can also make the company popular.

Compulsory Signage
Safety regulations require buildings to have some compulsory signage like EXIT signs or signs indicating HIS and HER toilets. It is also compulsory to have parking signs put up especially to mark spots for handicapped people. Hospitals too need to have the Red Cross on the building stating that the building is a medical facility.

Directions
Directions signs are primarily put on roads to direct commuters and to give them information like distance and speed limits. In a building directions to certain offices or utility services need to be given. Without such signs people would be completely lost and it would result in losing precious time and energy.
Name Boards
Name signs are very important as they indicate the name of the person sitting at the desk and also lets you know their designation and credentials. And there are also Photo ID Cards which serve the purpose.

Some tips for signage:
• It should be clear and concise.
• The name of the company must be the main writing on the sign. Then the services or goods on offer should be stated.
• The sign should be in accordance to the company logo and colours.
• It should be place at such a place that is easily visible. Some signs can be large so that they can be seen even from a distance.
• Each sign should be unique and should not resemble any other sign.
• If it is a direction sign then the words should be legible and large enough to be seen from even a distance.
• There are some compulsory signs that have to be put up like an EXIT sign or a hospital cross that is easily seen.
• A sign should be such that it is visible in the night as well as the day.
• The colours should not be garish or unappealing. Sometimes even sober colours look attractive like the blue of IBM.

If you are looking for someone to make you excellent signs for you then you could consider Recognition ID. You can check out their website at www.recognitionid.com.au.

Advertise Your Website With Classified Ads - By: Daniel Richmond

One of the most over-looked form of advertising is classified ads. As a marketer, you should be looking at ways to advertise your site online and offline using these ads. Because most marketers do not use the traditional classified ad method, those who sell ad space are now selling these spaces at rock bottom prices. So now is the time to buy ad space.

But before you go out and buy ad space, you will need to know how to write an effective ad. Below are the components of an ad and how each component should be written in order to be effective:

1) Ad Headline: I believe the headline is the most important part of the ad. This is where you capture the attention of the reader. You only have a few seconds to capture his attention. The headline should promise a benefit and encourage the reader to read on. For example, a good headline would be: "Stop Smoking in 7 Days". For people who are looking to quit smoking, this ad would capture their attention and encourage them to read on as these people are curious as to how they can stop smoking in 7 days.

The headline should contain words that have been proven to get people's attention. Words such as:

a) Free
b) New
c) Guaranteed
d) On Sale
e) Discount
f) Save Money...
g) Make Money
h) Now Hiring

You can use any word that promise a benefit (Just make sure that the benefit you are promising is true). Use words that suggest your product or service will solve the reader's problems.

2) Ad Description: Once you have their attention, the description will briefly state how the product or service will benefit the reader. If you are using your ad offline, you will have to pay a certain amount per word. So your description should be brief and concise. Your description should also contain a call to action. This is where you tell the reader what you want him to do. For example, you might write, "For a free catalog, call: (555) 555-1234". Or if your ad is online, you might write, "For more details, Click Here".

3) Write Multiple Variations of Your Ad: Once you have written your first ad, write at least 3 variations of the first ad. This is important as some ads will give you better results than others. Don't get frustrated if your ads do not make sense at this point. It takes time to write an effective ad. I can remember times when I spent almost 8 hours writing a simple classified ad. Writing a really good ad will take some time.

4) Test Your Ads: Once you have at least 4 variations of the same ad, you will want to test each ad one at a time. Decide where you want to place the ad and run the ad. After you have tested all ads, you should now be able to see which ads gave you the best results. The ads that gave you the best results are the ads you will want to use to advertise your website.

Points to remember: Make sure your ad includes the key components, such as a Headline that grabs the reader attention, a brief description that describes how your product or service will benefit the reader and a call to action. While most people focus their advertising efforts online, don't forget to advertise offline as well. Offline advertising is still effective. So Good Luck in all of your advertising endeavors.

Use Banner Stands to Grab Attention for Your Store or Trade Show Booth - By: Chris Robertson

Whether you own a retail store or attend trade shows to sell your products, banner stands can aid in grabbing the attention of your potential customers. Anyone that has worked in or studied advertising will tell you that visual points of interest will capture the eyes and minds of consumers. You've probably noticed how visual advertising products can guide consumers through department stores, discount stores and even movie rental stores. Banner stands can help you easily create visual "mini-campaigns" throughout your store or at your trade show booth so you can stir interest in your products or ideas.

What are Banner Stands?

These are floor stands that are used to display printed banners or presentations. They give an "easel" effect so you can present specific products, special sales offers, or new ideas to passers-by. Banner stands come in many styles and sizes to fit your needs, including those meant for portable use or more permanent displays.

Types of Banner Stands

As you shop for banner stands, you'll notice several different styles. Shop according to your desired price range and needs to ensure your banner stand will provide the most advertising for your dollars.

Retractable banner stands (or roll up banner stands) can easily retract or fold and be expanded when you're ready to display your ad. They are compact when folded for travel, which makes them very popular for traveling salespeople and trade show attendees. Most low-cost retractable banners use a spring-loaded mechanism while some higher-end stands do not. Both types can be expanded similar to a window shade and then attached to a support pole (or two poles for extra wide stands). In the retractable banner stand category, you'll also find telescopic models that can be adjusted to fit various heights. These work great as tabletop displays if you have limited floor space. Retractable banner stands come in various widths, ranging from 19 inches up to 72 inches wide. There are also models that stand up to 10 feet tall!

Portable banner stands include X banner stands (supported by a cross-shaped support bar), L banner stands (with an L-shaped support frame), and telescopic non-retractable stands. These require the banner to be attached to and removed from its stand manually. They can be used for trade shows or in-store displays. If you plan on keeping a banner advertisement displayed in your store at all times, opt for a retail banner stand, which has a heavier base. These work great for high traffic areas in stores where the stand may easily get bumped on crowded days.

For outdoor events such as arts and crafts shows, parades, festivals, sports events, etc., opt for an outdoor banner stand. These are designed to withstand wind with a plastic base that can be weighted down by filling it with water or sand. And if you want a real attention getter, choose a motorized banner stand that scrolls your image electronically. Just plug these in at your store or at any trade show and watch potential customers flock to your display.

Banner stands come with your choice of banners, printed to your specifications. You can choose from a variety of styles, or purchase just the stand and have your own banners created. Banner stands offer flexibility and long-term profits for a minimal investment!

Digital Printing A Much Awaited Solution To Pakistan's Outdoor Advertising - By: Steven Cave

Major corporations in Pakistan had a incomplete variety of advertising choices for countless years and impressive fresh media generally present all over the planet were virtually unheard of. However, al that totally changed in the late nineties as the requirement for creative kinds of ads rose as a bigger number of corporations competed for a portion of the spreading market. One such form was digital printing that could be displayed for countless indoor and outdoor purposes.

Hoarding ads and store signage in Pakistan were mostly manually painted and were subject to a reasonable number of problems such as fading of colors and average assembly, with most hoardings and shop frames being built with low gauge metal sheets or plastic. Particular fabricators sold good quality structures with life-like painted pictures, but the period it required to construct these signs was massive because of the labor-intensive process.

Still another general style of outdoor advertising was neon with significant special effects, like lighting different portions, exhibited on signs. The neon business was blooming prior to the introduction of digital print media in Pakistan in spite of countless integral issues. Neon displays were most appealing in the dark and presented little in terms of impact throughout the day and were quite high on running expenditure with neon tubes needing replacement fairly commonly.

The third generally acknowledged kind of advertising in Pakistan comprised offset printed posters, which were typically used indoors or stuck in great quantities on communal walls. Offset posters were however small in dimensions and were subject to troubles such as color fading and tearing too easily. Even the highest quality posters did not retain their clearness for more than an insignificant number of days.

Screen-printing for medium sized displays was also widespread in Pakistan. While part automated procedures were utilized everywhere on the planet, Pakistan’s sector was still primarily a labor-intensive process. Screen-printing was fast and easily obtainable in the country. However, the quality was gravely poor and similar to the other established media faced complications like color fading and common theft.

The earliest digitally printed hoardings or skins, as commonly alluded to in the business, were brought in from international firms in countries like Singapore. The excitement produced by these wonderful quality displays was the beginning of a quick and much desired revolution in the advertising business in Pakistan. Corporations thronged to issue orders for printed billboards and the shape of outdoor media in Pakistan was altered from then on. Within an insignificant number of years Pakistan had a handful of its own limited print shops and with economical technologies buyable from China, the printing business turned into a admired and lucrative industry.

Some Biasness and Hidden Drawbacks that Hamper a Good Advertisement - tradexcelgraphics.com - By: Tradexcel Graphics

"The ability to express an idea is well nigh as important as the idea itself." - Bernard Baruch
I am working in the professional image and design industry for several years. Here artists are the alchemists, who involve themselves in brainstorming for a piece of art that will work impressively on mass people to attain certain marketing goals. It is an art; may be considered as a part of pop art. But I admit, it doesn’t worth everything of art and here I have no intention to get into such argument about art.
In this industry, an advertisement faces more challenge than the real product, it is speaking for. I have a little to say about idea, design and communication as they are the major concerns to make an advertisement for current bloodthirsty market. I am not sure whether should I tag it as a guideline or suggestion but I want to start now.
Your design is the massage. Let it carry clearly what you or your clients want to tell about. Before starting your project, make your perception clear about the objective. Then be insightful and try to imagine the final output from the viewer’s point of view. Work out the idea what will be the best expression in performance to serve the objective. In this pitch, I believe – ‘experience is the best wisdom, other’s eye is the jury and self-confidence is the bias.’
"Two monologues do not make a dialogue." - Jeff Daly
Self-centered and egoistic tendency are frequently observed in artist and designer, specially who are new in the industry. Mostly they design their own ‘artistic’ thoughts which are not legible. But rarely they are able to touch people with a proper massage. So, it is better to let a tentative design for an in-house test among colleagues. The designer should be open to consider any correction or suggestion that comes as a common opinion.
Be aware of making your advertisement a monologue. Be conversing warmly like a first person with the audience. Make them hearing to your words. Approach directly. No intricacy can help your excuse of artiness.
Please don’t consider advertisement as your own best art-work that you wish for as a dedicated artist. It is a marketing tool for communication and people come to you for a best promotion to make their customer buy their product. So, ‘making customers positive to the product’ must come first in your priority list when you are an ad-designer.
"The art of communication is the language of leadership." James Humes
Your ad-design should make the massage confident and worthy enough to overwhelm the audience. But the way should be pleading and polite. In this time, people don’t like command. So, convince them with ease and let them enjoy your advertisement. Thus you can draw attention and get more time to express your massage. Please remember, people are very thin-skinned about their dignity, and other social and religious issues. So, be careful about your expression. Make sure that there is nothing to strike them harshly in text and image. Check it, and then recheck it.
"He can compress the most words into the smallest idea of any man I ever met." Abraham Lincoln
Express decently. Restrain over-expression and wordiness. Don’t load your designed ad with over commitment that your product or service hardly can bear. It may make puzzles with the massage and decrease the credibility. But amalgamation of little wit can make it more engaging and memorable.
When you design an advertisement, be vigilant about its relevancy and communication that carry the product or service. Be with a straight approach and let your audiences think your ad is talking to them and of course talking purposively about a certain product or service. to know more please visit:

5 Small Business Interent Advertising Strategies That Work - By: James L. Belt

Getting your small, local business found on the world wide web can be a challenge, and most small business owners jut don't have the time to research what works, or the money to pay someone else to figure it out for them.

To get you started, here are five techniques you can use today to start seeing results tomorrow.

Blogging. Simply buy a domain name, secure a hosting service, and install Wordpress. For less than $20 and an hour of your time, you can get a blog up and running.

Why blogging works: Google (and other search engines) loves fresh content. If you're choice is between a static "catalog" type page and a blog, go with a blog every time. The more you update, the more Google will crawl your site, and the more Google crawls your site, the easier it will be for potential customers to find your site and your business.

Pay Per Click advertising. If you want to guarantee search engine placement, pay per click is the way to go. Those results that show at the very top of the search results page in Google? Those are paid for by businesses just like yours who don't want to wait for their rankings to rise naturally. By bidding on certain keywords, they essentially are buying placement in the search results.

Why pay per click works: The average Internet user doesn't distinguish between paid results and natural results. If the link matches her inquiry, she will follow it, regardless of how it got there.

Forum posting. Forum posting is about helping your potential customers with their problems. Simply join the conversation on relevant forums and provide thoughtful advice, and you'll find clients following you back to your site to see what else you have to say about the subject.

Why forum posting works: People like to do business with people, not corporations. By offering advice on forums, you are reminding customers that there is a real person behind your small business.

Article marketing. Article marketing is the placement of useful, relevant articles in article directories across the web. It's another way of getting your business in front of potential customers, again by offering advice they are looking for.

Why article marketing works: The purpose of article marketing is twofold. First, article directories likely rank higher in search results than your company's site, making it easier to get your name in front of potential customers. Second, article marketing produces valuable back links to your company's site, which improves your own search engine ranking.

Banner advertisements. Banner advertisements are those graphic ads you see all over the web. They can be nearly any size, but most typical are 125 x 125 pixels, 468 x 60 pixels, or 160 x 600 pixels. Typically, merchants pay advertising networks to place banner ads on websites, rather than dealing directly with site owners.

Why banner advertising works: People rarely click banner ads, and when they do, they generally don't buy. So why bother? Brand recognition. If you own a florist shop on a street full of florists, how do you get people to stop in your shop instead of your neighbor's? By getting your brand in front of them. They might not click on your ad on the Internet, but they will recognize your shop if they've seen it on line, and they will choose the shop they recognize over the one they don't every time.

Advertising Creative for Small Business - By: Faith Megna

Creative has always had an identity issue. Most of it isn't ... creative. Advertising messages bombard people everywhere. Depending on the research, the average number of daily exposures per person ranges from 600 to 3000*. Even if the number is only 600, imagine the number of advertising messages not sinking in.

What do our imaginations latch onto? Ads that look and sound different from the rest of the pack. Think about all the commercials that stand out. On one hand, they have nothing in common. One may be funny; another may be really dumb; others may tug at the heart. On the other hand, the best advertisements have three things in common: they touch on emotion; offer unique selling propositions (USPs); and do so without blending in.

Here are the creative rules to keep in mind:

1) Be Creative. This may be harsh, but let's be honest. All the education in the world can't make a person creative. Not everyone is created equally when it comes to creative writing. Find someone who can be creative for you if it's not something that comes naturally. A great example of "having it" was from last February's "Big Game." The Doritos' commercial writers and overall winners were two unemployed brothers from Batesville, IN. We're all at least one person away from an idea generator.

2) Look and sound different. Use a professional for your production. If you receive free or discounted production from local media outlets, it will look - and sound - like everyone else. If you do use their services, especially with broadcast, request an out-of-market voice that hasn't been used.

3) Brand yourself. What is your USP? Reinforce your Unique Selling Proposition by using it in all advertising creative.

4) Don't write it yourself. This can be creative suicide. As a business owner, time is already at a premium. If a media salesperson requests copy to be written, find someone who does this for a living. By the way, don't trust a media salesperson to do your copywriting unless you've seen or heard samples of his/her creative work.

5) Stay away from advertising clichés. Say no to worn-out and overused phrases like "family owned and operated, friendly and knowledgeable staff, open for your convenience, for all of your needs". Find a story to tell and make that the focal point of the advertisement. Clichés ensure you'll blend in with the other daily clutter.

Be creative. Be different. Be bold. Reap the rewards.

5 Must Have Components for Successful Yellow Page Advertising - By: James L. Belt

As a business owner with a display ad in the yellow pages, you have only a second or two to grab the attention of your potential customer. Make sure your ad does its job by including these five crucial components.

1. Compelling headline. Most readers never get past the headline. If the headline is not sufficiently compelling, your potential customer will be on to the next ad faster than you can say snooze fest. Remember, the job of the headline is to get your reader to read the rest of the ad. That's it. That doesn't mean you can lie, but you do want to put most of your effort into this single most important part of your ad.

2. Benefits and more benefits. Great, you got your potential client to read the ad! Now, what's in it for her? Most businesses make the mistake of spewing all kinds of facts about them. How many years they've been in business, how many attorneys they have on staff, how many awards they've won, the list goes on. Don't do this.

If you want to make your advertising dollars really work for you, use them to tell your customer about her needs, and how your company will satisfy them. Think of it as a first date and talk about her, not you.

3. Great offer. Now that she knows how you can help solve her problems, your potential client is looking for an offer. What are you going to give her to entice her to become a customer? Things like free lessons, seminars, and reports are always popular, but be careful. Print advertising can last a long time, so make sure your offer isn't limited to x number of copies.

4. Complete contact information. Every customer is different. Some want to research their options without talking to a single sales person. Some want to leave all their concerns at your feet and let you handle it. Some want to do business in person, some prefer the phone.

By including all the ways she can reach you--web address, phone number, email, and physical location--you ensure that no matter the form of contact she prefers, she can find it. Don't send a potential new client to your competition's ad just because you didn't think to include your email address.

5. Call to action. What do you want your reader to do next? Don't leave it to chance or make the mistake of thinking she'll figure it out. You have to tell her what to do. "Call us to make an appointment today. Stop in our showroom and see the latest frost free models on display. Visit our website for more information." Make sure you spell out exactly what her next step should be.

Making Money Via Affiliate Advertising - By: Nick Sirago

You would be surprised how much could be accomplished by the use of affiliate advertising when it comes to internet marketing. Statistics show that a great deal of profits are made through a strategic and clever networking system that is based on a kind of meritocracy, where the more able and efficient advertisers get a larger share of the pie.

In this time when so much garbage is being tossed down our throats about how the economy is getting better, we scratch our heads and ask: Getting better for whom? Last we heard, our neighbors were getting laid off by the dozen. Well, we shouldn't trust so much what the fed tell us, and we should stick to getting by without relying on too many personnel and large budgets. Luckily, the internet allows us careers and entrepreneurial possibilities that require very little if any capital, and do not necessitate the hiring of other people. Online advertising and the use of marketing tools such as search engine optimization are a heaven send.

You do not need to own the business that makes the products in order to benefit substantially. All you need is networking skill. When you see a potential market, you have to take the initiative and purchase websites with related domain names, and make these link to other websites that sell the products.

Search engine optimization is the use of certain keywords to be 'optimized' when a search is made on a particular topic. This allows your website to go up in ranking among search results, and the higher the ranking, the more people will read the page and be directed to other links to purchase a product.

Another system would be an internet marketing affiliate program, where you place certain links in your website, and the more people view your page or click on the necessary links, the more chances there are of a purchase made. With each purchase, you get a certain commission. There are free programs of this kind which you have to avail of. To increase the number of clicks that are made in your name, you can create your own websites for the specific reason of getting people to click on the links.

There are so many unexplored niches on the Web, and we often do not even realize that a certain industry has so much potential. This is where certain software can come to great use. These types of software are able to detect certain markets that garner a lot of attention online, as indicated by number of searches made by Web viewers, but which do not have that many websites related to the searched item. By knowing these niches, you could concentrate your efforts and garner yourself a huge chunk of this unexplored market, to your gain, by creating websites with links that provide you commissions. And this isn't just one niche market; you can continuously find these as they come about.

Affiliate advertising is still a developing phenomenon, and it is recommended for those who want a fun and dynamic career that caters to the ever-changing demands of customers.

5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Yellow Page Advertising Space - By: James L. Belt

With the cost of yellow page advertising rising every year, small business owners need every advantage when it comes to getting the most out of their advertising budget. Make your yellow page advertising work harder for you with these five tips.

1. Focus on the benefits. You might have the largest car lot in town, but that won't matter to your customer unless you can translate it into a benefit for her. When writing your ad, be sure to look at it from your customer's point of view while asking yourself, "What's in it for me?" A large collection of cars means your customer is sure to find the perfect car for her needs at a price that matches her budget.

Even better - take that one step further and tell her the benefit of the benefit. That great price that fits perfectly well within her budget? Now she can afford to buy her son that baseball glove he's been wanting. All because you own the largest car lot in town.

2. Focus on your customer. Instead of saying how great your business is or how well trained your staff is or how many dentists make up your practice, make the ad about your customer and her needs. Address her concerns, her anxieties, her questions. Talk to her about her life, not your business.

Too many yellow page ads are all about the business. By using the word "you" more, you'll make your customer feel like she's important, and she'll be more likely to buy from the business that is interested in her.

3. Sell to women. Women make or influence 85% of all purchases. You can't afford to forget that. Even if your business is selling men's clothing, women are involved in the decision making, and should be considered when designing your ad.

4. Make a great offer. Yellow page advertising doesn't have to begin and end with a phone number and a website. Give your reader a reason to call or stop in, like a free consultation or a discount on their first purchase. Just make sure it's something you can continue to offer. A print yellow page ad lasts far longer than the single year printed on the cover. Many people continue to refer to old phone books for several years, and you don't want to alienate a potential customer just because you ran out of personalized golf towels.

5. Offer a guarantee. Be careful with this one. You want to build a relationship with readers and earn their trust, not make them cross-eyed with exclamation points and unbelievable hype. If you guarantee to beat any advertised competitor's price, then say so. Just don't say it in 48 point red caps.

Five Effective Online Advertising Strategies For Your Small Business - By: James L. Belt

Did you know that 83% of consumers conduct research online before making a purchase locally? Are your potential customers finding you, or are they finding your competitor? Here are five effective online advertising strategies you can use to increase your visibility and your profits.

1. Search Engine Optimization - Assuming your business has it's own website, search engine optimization (SEO) can help your site rank higher in search results, which is essential if you want to be found online. If your site doesn't show up on the first page of the results, chances are your customers are not finding you.

SEO is not complicated, but it can be confusing for those who don't have the time to study the methods various search engines use to rank web sites. It is possible to spend a small fortune with very poor results. Before embarking on any SEO journey, enlist the help of a qualified professional. Be sure to check references and ask for proof of results before agreeing to work with any SEO firm.

2. Pay Per Click - Pay per click advertising works by driving potential customers to your business's website through ads placed on other sites and in search engine results pages. Each time a potential customer clicks your ad, you pay a fee to the PPC network. The amount of the fee varies and will depend on the popularity of the keywords you target, and the competition among advertisers for that keyword.

It is worth noting that pay per click can be a risky business, since the advertiser pays regardless of whether or not a sale is actually made. It would be wise to consult an expert before beginning any pay per click advertising program.

3. Affiliate Programs - Whether you sell a physical product (think car parts or power tools) or provide a service, offering an affiliate program can be a good way to improve your sales. Affiliate programs essentially provide a business with a stable of sales people who all work on straight commission. When your customer makes a purchase through an affiliate link, the affiliate earns a small percentage of the total sale.

Affiliate programs are typically managed by an affilate manager who is in charge of providing promotional materials to affiliates, and who is available to answer any questions and handle any commission disputes that might arise. You can choose to host your own affiliate management software to track clicks and sales, or you can join an affiliate network like Commission Junction or Share A Sale to avoid any technical hassles and to take advantage of their existing network of affiliates.

4. Banner Ads - Banner ads refer to any ad space you buy (or rent) on a website. Ads can vary in size from very small to nearly full screen. Some ads pop up or under an open web page, some have moving graphics, some are interactive and change depending on the movements of the mouse pointer.

Banner ads can be purchased on individual web sites for a set period of time, but unless you can easily target the sites your potential customers are reading, this can be tricky. Banner advertising can also be sold through advertising networks. Similar to affiliate networks, advertising networks manage the technical details for you in exchange for a fee. Some popular advertising networks are Value Click Media and BlogHer.

5. Internet Yellow Pages - Internet Yellow Page Directories are increasing in popularity as more and more consumers turn to the Internet first in their search for local businesses. One recent study commissioned by comScore showed that Internet Yellow Pages gained in popularity in 2009, with 21% of respondants citing Internet Yellow Pages as their primary source of local business searches online.

This Friend is “The Power of Reverse Advertising” - By: vin od

How many times have you heard that posting on FFA sites are a complete waste of time.
Are FFA sites really a complete waste of time.Yes they are.
Then why do millions of people still post on FFA pages every single day of the year.
It sure beats me.
The ONLY people gaining from FFA sites are the people that HOST them.
WHY I hear you ask. Well listen very carefully.
Every time somebody wants to post on a FFA site, they have to receive an email confirmation and agree to receive ONE email from the person who hosts the FFA page.
So, let is say I wanted to post on YOUR FFA page. I submit my link on your page and receive an email confirmation.
Now, apart from the confirmation link, can you guess what else may be in that confirmation email.
That is right my friend. YOUR AD promoting YOUR product.
This is what is known as Reverse Advertising and is an ingenious form of advertising for the FFA host because it is a REQUIREMENT that they open your confirmation email sent to them by YOU, the FFA host, before their AD can be placed.
This doesn t count towards your daily ad, so you can still send one MORE email to this lead. Therefore, the person who originally posted on your FFA page is now receiving YOUR ads.
Now imagine this you OWN a couple of FFA sites that get thousands of posts every single day with your ads going out to thousands of people in the confirmation email as well as sending ONE daily email to your leads the day after.
You are receiving guaranteed massive advertising by including your advertisement in the confirmation email.
This is exactly what I do and the other savvy marketers do to generate up to 50,000 targeted visitors every day and rake in thousands of sales every month.
This form of advertising is Permission Based Advertising and allows YOU to email thousands of targeted prospects at NO charge and without ever being accused of spamming.

How to Write Your Advertising Articles - By: Robert Johnston

Need to create advertising articles for your newsletter of advertising blog? Well, you cannot just do an essay of sorts. There is a certain way of writing articles that should make it more effective. If you do not know how to do this, then this guide should teach you all the basics that you need to know. Let's start with the most obvious, know your medium.

• Know your medium – Advertising articles are usually custom made for a certain specific medium. So for example, you will need to know if your advertising articles are going online to an advertising blog, or in actual print to be handed out to people. There is still a marked difference between writing for those two and you have to be aware of it. For example, writing online adverting articles means you can add links and reference to a lot of things that people have access to when viewing the article online. For traditional prints though this is impossible. So know your medium to know the style that you need to adapt to.

• Know your audience – Besides knowing your medium, you must also know about your audience. This is an important step since most advertising articles will have to plan on the reader's wants and needs. So articles for the young market is usually different from articles for the older market. You must know these subtle nuances to create the best article for those specific demographics.

• Use a simple and precise style – Now, in terms of your general composition, you have to always write in a simple and precise style. Don't go overboard with the flowery words and advertising propaganda. People just get turned-off by that. Use simple words in a manner that everybody should understand. Use the words that people like to hear like “free”, “discounts” and “savings”. All of this can result in an easy to read advertising article that should be pretty effective.

• Add images when possible – Finally of course, advertising articles can never be quite as effective unless they have a helpful images. Since pictures paint a thousand words for you, you can easily improve the impact and value of your advertising article if you just add a simple image. If you need to explain a certain process, or present the beauty of your product, it will be very hard and very long to describe it all in text. So add images when possible to save you all the trouble that describing will entail.

Great! Hopefully that helps you a bit on how to write your own advertising articles for business. Good Luck!

Branded Promotional Items beat Traditional Advertising - By: Michiel Van Kets

Promotional merchandise comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from office equipment and electronic gadgets to fashionable clothing, house items, fun and novel gifts and environmentally friendly promotional items. They have proved to be a cost effective way to advertise your business.

Deciding on the type of products that can best represent your company can be a difficult choice due to the large amount of items available. When selecting promotional items and gifts consider your budget, the impact you want to make and the quality of the item. Poor quality will reflect badly on your product and company, and leave a bad impression on prospective clients. Promotional products and clothing can be transformed into personal billboards for your brand so use them wisely.

Branded Items are a great way for knowledgeable marketers to raise brand awareness and get their message across. The growing recognition of the effectiveness of logo branded items can be put down to two factors. First, they are targeted to a specific audience, unlike traditional mass media, they are given only to the people you choose. Secondly, because they are targeted they are measurable and cost effective. Value is more essential than low costs, it is crucial to present superior branded items if you want to make your promotion a success.

There are lots of ways to get your branded items out in the local area and get noticed. Get in touch with fundraisers who will be on the lookout for prizes for raffles and competitions, these can be the ideal opening for you to give away your branded promotional items.

A fundraising event provides a great opportunity to get your logo recognized and be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people. Consider having a stand at the event too where you can give out brochures or a little free gift, again with your logo printed on it. Novelty pens or stylish keyrings can be purchased at reasonable costs. If you are giving some of your own products as prizes, then expect your business name to be announced to the audience and have a big banner on display.

Exhibitions and trade shows are also highly popular venues with businesses wanting to get their name known. Consider giving away promotional Tote bags at an event such as this, as they are not only practical and useful but also environmentally friendly.

A Tote bag makes a great promotional gift as they come in a range of bright colours and various styles and can be printed with your logo or company name, or a message displayed prominently on the front. The number of people attending one of these events can be in their thousands and you need quirky or stylish branded items as a give-away to make them spot your stand amongst the hundreds of others and encourage them to stop. You then have a chance to talk to them about your products and services. If you do decide to give away Tote bags, you could also add other items inside, such as pens, pads and even discount coupons.

There is no end to the methods that you can use to publicize your business using promotional items. It is also a much cheaper way to advertise than other traditional forms of advertising. It can be costly to advertise in the newspapers or even on local TV, and once it has been seen the paper gets thrown away and the ad is forgotten. For the same price you could purchase hundreds of branded items and with your logo printed prominently on the front of a practical item, such as a pen or calendar, you can be guaranteed your logo will be seen over and over again.

Only source products from good quality factories and importers if you really want to make an impact. Research a few promotional product websites before making a decision; they will give you lots of inspiration.

Do You Know The Most Effective Advertising Requirements - By: James Love

More and more people today are leaving paper advertising for the internet.
Both have their pro’s and con’s when using them to market
your organization. But you need to understand
that having a marketing tactic is just the beginning!
There are key things you need to gain from your marketing efforts to actually
create the most effective advertising system viable.

These are the necessities you need to have to establish
effective advertisements…

I. Tracking development is the first action to effective
advertisements and is more crucial than most people imagine

1. You need to know how many times people actually look at, read or watch the
marketed material (your advertisement).
2. How many of those persons actually inquired about your product or service?
3. How many of those individuals turned in to actual customers?
4. Which advertisement created one of these actions by potential customers?

II. Update the ad content / verbiage (split test)

- Based off of your ad tracking you will know how effective each ad that you have placed is.

To determine if you will make changes or re-create the entire advertisement. There is no ideal
way to state anything and the age, gender and location of your potential
customers will influence the way that your ad is perceived and evaluated.

Giving a perfect reason to do a “split test”
which is done by duplicating an existing ad and changing one detail.
This detail can be as straightforward as punctuation, capital vs. lower case,
removing or adding a word or a different headline.
It's amazing the way one quick change in the verbiage or punctuation of the ad can change the effectiveness.
their effectiveness.

III. Target Your Audience (age groups, gender, location, etc)

- This is a very important piece of information because you don’t need to be selling ice to an Eskimo.

There is a specific demographic that uses your product and or service and you need to figure out who that is.
Advertising to anyone outside of your ideal demographic of people will be throwing money out the window.
A quick example, if you want to strictly
market to a local audience you have to make sure that your advertisements
aren’t seen on a nationwide scale. Targeting can be getting noticed by certain groups
and targeting can be staying hidden from certain people is
extremely important in order to stay cost sensitive.

IV. Be Seen & Stand out

- No matter what you do, you have to make sure you are putting yourself in a
place that will allow you to be seen.

Not just once and a while but often because advertising only works when people can actually see it.

Meaning you have to not only use the most effective advertising methods to get your ad’s
out, but you have to “Stand Out”.
If you are using banner ads you would want to have eye catching colors or an ad that has flashing/moving elements.

Or with text ads present the thing your company does best, basically why someone would want to work
with you instead of the competition. Create a call to action, make that person WANT to click on your ad.
You ever wonder why so many people buy the latest “Cosmopolitan” or
“Men’s Health” magazine? It’s because their headlines grab your attention.

V. Be Cost sensitive

- This may be obvious but so many people forget
that you need to monitor and revise your advertisements
in all of your marketing efforts. If you aren't watching closely
you might be putting money into ad’s that aren’t effective.
The idea is to fine-tune your ad’s until you are earning more than
you are spending.

Here’s an example…

You have a cold and you just bought and used 2 different cold medicines.

Now tell me, which one actually worked? You can’t!

How can you know which of the two medicines you had taken actually
did what you needed to feel better. So now next time you get a flu you will
most likely purchase both of the medicines again. What this has accomplished is now
instead of purchasing the 1 medicine that worked for you; you are buying both and
just throwing money away.

VI. Have Automation

- Having automated advertising will make sure that every opportunity created from
your marketing efforts is being worked. Whether you answer them by phone or
email is up to you.

And I know what you’re thinking “you can’t hire someone
around the clock to answer the phones for you”.
But you actually can and I’ll touch on that another day.

Your time is important and priceless so we want to be cost effective and apply
marketing that can be updated swiftly and does the work while you sleep.

To recap you must be able to:

- Track effectiveness of the advertisement
- Update the ad’s content / verbiage (split test)
- Target Your Audience (age groups, gender, location, etc)
- Be Found!
- Be Cost sensitive
- Time sensitive (your time, and how long till the ad is shown)
- Automated

No Advertising, Just Classifieds - By: Y. Chang

Advertising has become as much a part of twenty-first century life as computers and working on the weekend. As if advertising in the media wasn’t enough, savvy advertisers are now hocking their wares through advertisements on sidewalks, airsick bags, mobile phones, merchandising and even tattoos. That’s right; companies are paying individuals big bucks to have their logo or slogan permanently printed on to their body.

Of course, not all advertising is bad. Considered classified advertising. Classifieds serve a useful purpose – they help to bring buyers and sellers together. Online classified advertising is even better; after all, not everyone reads the newspaper but millions of people log on to the internet on a daily basis. There are thousands of online classifieds websites to chose from, so how do you know which one will yield the best results?

Classifiedsfree.org is a leader in a rapidly emerging field. This site allows users to post free advertisements with no limitations – unlike other ‘free’ sites, which only allow the seller to use a certain amount of words. Classifiedsfree.org has no hidden costs, does not require registration and, most importantly, has no advertising!

Other classifieds sites are often riddled with annoying and distracting advertising. Some have pop up advertisements, which are frustrating and can make navigating the site a nightmare, while others will use the information they collect from you (such as your e-mail address and the information you access on the site) to spam you with Special Offers and Limited Time Deals.

Other forms of advertising are more than just annoying; they can seriously work against the seller. Some site others disguise advertisements for their sponsors as classified advertising, so when users open these ads they are often led away from the site – meaning they’ll never see your advertisement.

Some free classifieds websites even post competing advertisements next to your ads. The cars category, for example, will include advertisements for wholesale dealers. Do you really want to have to compete with big businesses when trying to sell something?

Classifiedsfree.org is completely free of advertising. When you visit this site, either as a buyer or seller, you will never be annoyed or distracted by pop ups or advertising posing as classifieds. Classifiedsfree.org won’t spam you, or sell your details to other companies. When you list an item with us, you can be guaranteed that you will not have to compete with our sponsors, or have to worry about potential buyers being scared away by annoying or deceptive advertising.

Classifedsfree.org banishes the bad ads so that you can enjoy the good ads. Our straightforward model makes buying and selling a piece of cake!

Bus Advertising - A Primer - By: webmaster busadvertising

How often has a bus ad caught your attention? That's what they are designed to do, and they are very effective. They are particularly eye-catching if they incorporate the shape of the wheels or windows or doors into the ad. The clever paint jobs on bus ads can be entertaining or disturbing, depending on the images used, but they will almost always grab your attention.

Giant bugs “crawling” all over a bus will certainly make you pause or perhaps even cringe, and that's just one of the latest images that creative advertisers use to sell their products or services. Bus ads are part of what is known as moving media advertising, and they are effective because of the traffic situations virtually worldwide. You are bound to be stuck in traffic for hours a year – not a pleasant thought – and creative advertising can often bring a smile to a weary commuter's face.

The nature of bus ads is very competitive, as most advertising realms are, and only the cutting edge ads will keep your interest for more than a moment, if you have seen the same ad before. Marketing firms are forever looking for new ways to make their clients' products and services more visible to the general public, and the more attention they grab, the better.

To be sure, companies will not use bus ads exclusively. You will still see them in the yellow pages, magazines and newspapers, inundating every aspect of our waking lives. TV and the Internet are also extremely active areas of advertising, but firms are always on the lookout for more personalized and newly designed channels of delivery. In fact, you will sometimes see entire buildings painted in ads, and advertising blimps and hot air balloons are very noticeable, but only in the limited area where they are flown.

The United States has thousands of buses that travel through cities and across the country. Many of these buses will make their travels through areas that are heavily trafficked, and the more people that see them, the more effective bus ads are. Bus advertising probably started as a way for smaller ad agencies to reach more of the local public. But now, larger companies, even worldwide companies, use bus ads to reach a greater portion of their target audience. Bus ads are simple in design, and they are an efficient means of advertising.

Bus advertising adds more color to your daily commute, and has designs that are very definitely eye-catching and memorable. They are a more pleasant sight on the city streets than gray or drably painted buses. They are a nice contrast to your weary, sleepy co-commuters in bumper to bumper traffic every morning and evening rush hour. You may not have a need for the particular product or service that you see advertised daily, but if it makes an impact on you, then you will probably mention the ads to other people, who may need the product or the services that those companies market.

Why Newspapers are Still the Best Advertising Platform for Small Businesses - By: Russell Davie

Webwindows, a leading media agency in the UK, feels that to succeed in a business venture, it is important for companies to get their advertising strategy right. This is all the more important for small businesses with limited budgets who really cannot afford to waste their advertising pounds. Webwindows strongly recommends that you should plan your advertising policy in such a manner that each pound is well spent.
There are mainly two advertising channels available to small businesses, the print media and online media. The other popular media, the mass media, TV and radio, can be a bit expensive for companies with limited budgets. Webwindows feels that too many people are taking the online route to make their presence felt simply because the media offers some free marketing channels such as search engine optimization techniques. But Webwindows rightly points out that all free things in life come with a price. When something is free, chances of fraud increases. In case of free advertising, there may be chances that you may be taken for a ride. This may also be in case of print advertising, but Webwindows feels that though this cannot be discounted, the chances are less because ultimately people are paying for the advertising space. Secondly, take the case of another SEO technique, article marketing, which is often touted as free. The word is a bit of misnomer because either you are investing time in writing these articles or paying some professional to do it. Then again, there are millions of registered websites on the Internet with a vast majority trying to make their presence on the first page of the search results. This itself makes taking the SEO route a bit of a difficult process.
Webwindows states that the best way for small companies to make their presence felt is by advertising in newspapers. Webwindows gives various reasons to support its case. First, newspapers have a mass reach and they have an emotional connect with the audience. Newspapers have been around for a long time and even today they are the leading source of news, information and updates. Webwindows further points out that reading a newspaper is a leisurely activity and when people read the newspapers they are in a more relaxed state of mind. It goes without saying that a relaxed mind is the right soil for any message to take roots. Besides, there are many people who love to browse through ads just for the sake of it. They may not be interested in buying a particular product or service at a point of time but they may keep a cutting for further reference.
Another point that goes in favour of newspapers is their easy accessibility. Even though the use of Internet is becoming more common yet it cannot match the reach of the newspapers.

Google Study Proves Print Advertising Works Well with Online Advertising - By: Russell Davie

Webwindows, a leading media agency, believes that online companies can improve their presence on the Internet through print media advertising. While this may seem surprising, but all recent studies on the subject point to this undisputed fact. A recent study commissioned by Google has thrown up the following facts about the relevance of newspaper advertising.
• About 47% people responded to newspaper ads and logged on to the internet to browse through the site advertised.
• An impressive 72% of people who responded to a newspaper ad actually made the purchase.
• 50% of respondents admitted that their confidence in a product advertised on the Internet greatly increased when they also saw it advertised in the newspaper.
• 26% of readers cut out an ad for future reference.
• 64% of people admitted that they paid more attention to print ads than those that appeared online.

The study also showed that people find online ads to be a great disturbance and in fact more than one in four consumers stated that they would pay for online content to avoid ad exposure. This fact was also collaborated by a research by Deloitte on how advertising impacted readers.
Webwindows explains the above results by stating that newspapers have a mass reach and are deeply woven into the collective conscious of the readers. It is precisely because of this they trust a product that is advertised in the print media than a product that is advertised online. According to Webwindows, newspapers give advertisers significant local reach and so they are the best mediums to advertise in for companies that wish to target a local audience. Newspapers are consumers' primary source for checking advertising. In fact people all over the world read newspapers for relaxation and are more open to browsing through ads. Even if they do not want to buy a product at that particular point of time they may keep a cutting for future reference.
Webwindows further supports its case for newspaper advertising being the most effective form of advertising by highlighting the latest audit figures, which show that thirty-seven million people read a national newspaper every week. About 84% of UK adults read a national newspaper on a monthly basis. Webwindows rightly feels that companies can reach a highly targeted audience by advertising the print media.

Webwindows also suggests that for newspaper advertising to be effective, the advertisement should be well written, put in the right newspaper in order to reach the right people. Webwindows points out that companies should never advertise just to stay in the limelight. They must have something concrete to say and advertise.

Webwindows states that it is important to get the right advertisement in the right newspaper at the right time. Webwindows Guide to a Perfect Advertising Strategy - By: Russell Davie

It is not just important to have a quality product and service. To be successful in any business venture, you need to market and advertise your offering to reach your target audience. To reach a niche audience, it is important to plan a perfect advertising strategy. Webwindows, a leading media agency, suggests the following points for planning a perfect advertising strategy.

Its all about getting the timing right: Webwindows rightly feels that to hit the bull's eye, it is important to get your timing right. For example, assume that you sell a seasonal product, lets say woollens, you should begin advertising when the winters are about to approach. Webwindows suggests that you should begin your advertisement campaign before the season is actually about to start, or just before your competitors also begin advertising. Beginning well in advance, gives you ample space and time to register your products in the minds of the customers. Webwindows also rightly points out that print advertising is all about repeat advertising, so plan your campaign such that you have adequate time to keep repeating your messages and reaching out to your target audience.

Choosing the right advertising channel: There are many advertising channels available for advertising: the print media, mass media such as TV and radio, and the most recent addition, the online media. Apart from these, advertisers can also advertise their offerings in trade fairs, group meetings etc. Given the large number of channels available, Webwindows suggests that companies should decide based on a number of points. First, the budget is very important. Advertising on TV requires a huge budget while this is not the case with print advertising. Webwindows feels that for small and mid-sized companies with limited budgets and with a local audience, the best medium of advertisement is the print media. According to Webwindows, newspapers have a wide mass reach, are easily available and they have a great emotional connect with the people.
Getting the right message across: Advertising is about getting the right message across to the right audience. To explain its point, Webwindows takes the case of print media advertising. When drafting an advertisement for the newspapers, companies should focus on a catchy tagline, bulleted points that highlight the advantages of the offering, and clearly mentioned contact information.

How to Draft a Great Advertisement by Webwindows - By: Russell Davie

Advertising is an important tool in any marketing strategy to promote goods and services, strength and create brand awareness, and educate people and communicate information. There are different types of media available for advertising, and each media calls for a different form of advertisement. For example, if your advertisement is for TV, your ad will comprise of both audio and visuals. In case of the print media, the over all emphasis is on copy though images and pictures can also make a difference. So how to create the perfect ad for the print media?

One leading media agency in the UK, Webwindows observes that print media advertising is all about getting the message across to the target audience using the right words, and through a media that is easily accessible by a majority of the people.

Webwindows has more than ten years of experience in helping companies place classified advertisements in newspapers, and based on its experience, the company suggests the following.

Be clear about the purpose of the advertisement: For an advertisement to translate into results, the advertiser should be very clear about the purpose of the advertisement and should word it such that the objective is adequately and clearly highlighted. The purpose of the advertisement can be varied; it can be to improve sales, increase or strengthen brand awareness, or even to announce a new product or service. Alternatively, advertisements can be used to effectively launch a new business, or even recruit new hires. So the first step in drafting a good ad is to identify its central message and then build the copy around it.

Giving an appropriate tagline to the advertisement: The most important part of a classified advertisement is its tagline it should be creative and it should be able to grab the attention of the readers. But adding a word of caution, Webwindows strongly suggests that it should not be misleading or the creativity should not overshadow the message of the ad. Webwindows also advises clients that the attention grabbing effect of an ad can be further achieved by getting the design of the ad right. Using the right graphics can enhance the quality of the ad.

Message of the advertisement: The message of the ad should be to the point and precise. You should just list the highlights of the product or service you are advertising and shouldn't give a detailed description of each. Basically, you should give bulleted points to get your message across. If the customer is interested, he can find more information by contacting you on phone, by mail or by visiting your website. We at Webwindows feel that your ad should be a window to your store but not the store itself.

Contact information: According to Webwindows, it is very important to clearly mention the call to action. In case of a classified advertisement, the contact details should be given. The contact details can be an email address, phone number or the URL of the website in question.

.The Secret to Creating Ads That Sell - By: minakshi

Whether you are starting a new business or looking to attract new sales there are a few things you can't afford. Losing potential clients to your competitor and wasting money on ineffective advertising.

Unfortunately, these things happen more often than not. So, why do some businesses do so well while others fail? It's not due to more marketing dollars spent. Instead a strategic plan was evoked to produce an effective advertisement.

There are many important elements that go into producing an effective ad. First, let me start by saying that coming up with a great ad it isn't rocket-science. There are no complicated formulas to follow in order to create an ad that grabs the readers' attention.

Second, using just creativity can kill your ad. Let me explain. Creative ideas are just that, creative. Before you slap down an idea and call it "brilliant" take the few minutes and ask yourself the following questions:

* Who is my targeted audience?

* Does the ad clearly communicate my message?

* What is "unique" about my message?

* How does my ad compare to my competitors?

* What will motivate my targeted audience to respond?

Your ad has to be more than just creative. It must exude value in its message. Think of the reasons why you buy a product or service. Almost every reason for a purchase has some sort of value tied to it. Whether it saves money, tastes good or satisfies an emotional need, it serves a valued purpose.

Make Headlines Work for You

The headline is by far one of the most important elements in creating an effective ad. There are thousands of pages both in print and online that cover the subject of headlines. Why? Well, quite frankly, it makes or breaks an ad. The headline is in essence the voice of your ad. It shouts out: "Hey This Product Will Make You Rich, Here's How!"

Rather than using: "Jane's Homemade Cookies" use "Instant Smiles with Easy to Bake Homemade Cookies".

Always use appealing keywords in your headline that attract attention or stir up curiosity. The goal is to get your targeted audience to read the rest of your copy. Consider using the following keywords when writing your headline:

New, How, Why, Free, Save, Fast, Now, Announcing, Introducing, Wanted, Make, Grow, Sale, Limited, Guaranteed.

Next time you notice a headline that grabs your attention; use it and test it on your product or service. But always keep away from exaggerating your offer. You will quickly lose credibility if you are not honest with your targeted audience.

Writing Simple Yet Effective Body Copy

Once you accomplish transitioning the reader from the headline into the body copy, build momentum by relating to the viewers' needs and satisfying their desires with each written word.

When writing the body copy; keep words simple and to the point. Use sub-headlines whenever possible and keep paragraphs short.

It's important to make it easy for the reader to scan through the copy. If your offer consists of many benefits, use a bulleted list.

Avoid cluttering up your ad by trying to cram too much in the space provided. Eliminate unnecessary words that can drown your message.

Using Visual Elements

There are no set rules of where the graphics must be placed on your ad. However, when selecting illustrations or photographs, display your product or choose ones that are relevant to your offer.

Using graphics can enhance your message as well as grab a viewer's attention when they glance around on a page. Remember, graphics can communicate a message before a single word is read.

Ask for the Sale While Creating a Sense of Urgency

Limited-time offers can create a sense of urgency, but giving your reader a valid reason why they should act now generates more sales. Again, use benefits to attract the reader to take action.

Is there a free gift with the purchase? Will it enhance their lives immediately? Is it a special one-time low price offer?

People love bargains. Use discounts to attract those who want to take advantage of your offer by providing a coupon with an expiration date.

Lastly, specify how your product or service can be obtained and ask for the sale. If it requires a phone call ask them to pick-up the telephone and call. If you require payment, tell them what forms of payment you accept and how to make them.
