EXCITING GAMES:

Board Games That Feature Auto Racing By : Victor Epand

This article shows how board games have evolved to even grab the excitement of the auto racing industry. Auto racing enthusiasts can now enjoy their favorite passtime sitting at home with friends and they can be the driver in their favorite game.

One of the most popular American hobbies is the avid following of Nascar and other forms of auto racing. Fans pick their favorite drivers and follow the careers of these drivers with a zeal that is nearly unmatched by any other sports fan. Many of these fans yearn with a longing to be out there and racing themselves. While this particular dream is not incredibly likely to happen, however, there is a way that these auto racing fans can experience at least a taste of the same thrill that the drivers must experience on the race around the track.

Board games exist which let players simulate all of the aspects of a heated race around the track. While it's no real substitute for the real thrill of driving at breakneck speeds, trying to win the race, this is the next best thing available to people from all walks of life. These games don't require all of the safety measures that real racing needs and it keeps a player far from the potential danger which could be lurking.

Stock Car Saturday Night is one such board game which features all of the highlights from auto racing. This compact board game design will give players the chance to experience all of the action and strategy that goes into typical small town auto racing without any of the danger that a traditional race can provide. This game takes an innovative approach to the idea of the board, however, for instead of simply placing an oval track on a board, which players will then race around, the entire game is instead built around one player's relative position to all of the other cars.

Players will maneuver through Stock Car Saturday Night by playing special cards at strategic moments. These cards, holding special racing tactics, can change the entire outcome of the game in one simple move, if played at the correct time. Or, perhaps, it can ruin one person's entire game if not played intelligently. The game makes players keep track of a number of elements which real drivers all have to carefully monitor. If a player is not constantly alerted to their tire wear, fuel consumptions, and the state of the car itself, they will easily lose the race. Players are taught to develop skills that will keep every element of the race in the front of their minds as the game continues.

The Real Action Stock Car Championship board game is another example of everything that the world of auto racing can provide to board games. This game, which can host up to 20 players, provides two different race tracks, each with their own set of obstacles which require a number of racing strategies to help any one player win. Each player will be left in charge of their own racing and pit stop strategy, competing to win the race and, eventually, the championship. This game will satisfy any hard-core racing fan as well as any person who casually enjoys the world of auto racing.

The Exciting World Of Celebrity Board Games By : Victor Epand

This article is about the board games that feature celebrity's, these games are usually made for the stars that are loved by children who lend their face and name to make a board game more sale worthy

Today's culture places a lot of emphasis on celebrities and celebrity endorsements. If our favorite stars think that something is a good product, then it surely must be. This applies to board games as well. Some of our favorite celebrities have their own featured board games and by enjoying one of their games, you can take part in something that you know they endorse. These games are usually suited to younger people, as children are the ones who love celebrities and their endorsements the most of all. These games, however, can provide children with a great opportunity to enjoy a fun game that is appropriate for them.

One of the biggest Celebrity board games would revolve around the current superstar sensation, Hannah Montana. One of her board games, Hannah Montana Girl Talk, serves as an updated sort of Truth or Dare. This game allows players to move around a board, determining whether they have to answer a question or perform a dare. All questions and stunts have a points value associated with them and the first person to reach 25 points is the winner of the game.

The game is very suited to fans of the Hannah Montana show, as most of the questions and dares are all Hannah Montana related. The game is a very affirming game though, because located around the board are spaces which let players draw Hannah Montana Secret Cards. These cards all have something positive written on them. The player who lands on this space will draw one card for each of the other players in the game and then secretly pass those cards to the player who they think it describes best. At the end of the game, the winner gets to look at the cards to see what the other players think.

Another game which is popular with children would be the Mary Kate and Ashley New York Minute board game. This game was released coinciding with their movie, New York Minute, and it will give fans the chance to enjoy both a Mary Kate and Ashley theme as well as compete in a way that reminds them of the movie. The object of the game is to move through the streets of New York, occasionally stopping to draw cards. The first player who can get their Mary Kate and Ashley tokens to the Home space is declared the winner. However, certain events can happen to impede the players as well as certain beneficial events to aid them. The game is relatively simple, accessible to many players of different ages. It will allow a number of players to enjoy the thrill of the game, keeping any fans of Mary Kate and Ashley happy.

Yet another game in this category is Celebrity Head Board Game. In this game, each player selects the name of a celebrity and places it on his/her own head. (The game comes with four rings that the four players can attach their card to and place on their heads.) As the players move about on the baord, each one gets a turn to ask the others about the card on their head. Depending upon which square they fall on, they can either ask questions that can be answered with a "Yes" or "No", miss a turn, or get a hint from the other players. By using these answers, the player has to guess what star he/she is. The first player to guess wins.

These games, built around celebrities, can often provide the people who enjoy those celebrities with a little fun. The games are usually not overly complex, often designed for children. For this purpose, however, they work remarkably well and can bring a smile to any young face. Anyone who is a fan of a major teenage celebrity should look for a game they can enjoy!

Board Games In Video Games By : Victor Epand

This article describes the many board games that have been made into video games and vice-versa, these games bring people who love board games to interactive games that are controlled by a video game console.

Video game consoles are slowly becoming a common item in every home in America. Many of them can now be purchased for relatively cheap and, seeing as they are popular not only for children but the entire family, one can find some type of video game console nearly everywhere. The games that can be played on these consoles range from strategy games, where someone takes the form of one of the characters of the game, trying to accomplish a list of goals in the most effective way possible, to full out war games, where players are given any number of different weapons and are told to defeat all of the enemies presented.

There is a growing trend, however, for some board games to take on features of games that the public already knows and loves, namely board games. There are a few video games existing which, at their heart, are board games which the players will all play together. Within the game, the players will race around a track, landing on certain spaces which will either benefit them, or set them back to a degree. One of the most popular video games which takes this board game format is the incredibly popular Mario Party series.

The Mario Party series is a set of games which has, to date, eight editions available on a few different platforms. These games are fundamentally designed for multiple players and can usually be played on a series of different boards. At the core of the Mario Party games, players race around the board to collect the highest number of stars within a set amount of rounds. Each of the possible boards which are playable, though, come with their own unique set of rules and conditions for obtaining those stars, as well as a layout which can aid or hurt players depending on their position on that board.

Players can choose to be any number of characters from the Mario universe, playing as that character for the duration of the game. Additionally, players will all compete in mini-games against the others, looking to gain a number of coins which will help them all on their quests to gain stars. Mario Party is a great opportunity for players to play a simply designed game that gives not only the appearance, but the mechanics of a board game.

Another video game which plays much like a board game is Mary Kate and Ashley's Sweet Sixteen game. This game allows up to four players to play as either Mary Kate, Ashley, or one of their two friends who are racing around a track, driving in their brand new cars. The goal is to be the player who can invite the most boys to the party that night, picking them up in the car and driving around the town with them. At the end of a set number of laps around the course, whichever player has picked up the greatest number of boys in their car is declared the winner of the game.

Monopoly Here & Now is the video version of everyone's favorite board game. The gameplay is still turn-based by rolling the dice. Just as in the board game, players have to purchase plots of land and build structures on them, and pay rent to, or receive rent from other players. However, the digital version of the game has 10 boards and extra mini-games within the main game, which are played at various points within the game. There is also option to unlock more boards as you play and keep winning. There are also many different modes of playing the game so that one will never get bored playing this game.

Different Board Games About Medicine By : Victor Epand

This article features the time honored profession of medicine, introducing players to the games that are medically oriented and giving them an idea of what doctors go through when they do the procedures presented in the game.

The world of practicing medicine is a large one, with many different areas and specialties. This can naturally translate well into a board game setting, as these various different areas of medicine can all be looked at with a competitive, fun eye. Anything from performing surgery to identifying various diseases based on a patient's symptoms have been tapped for board games and all of these games have proven to be not only great fun, but sometimes even educational. Anyone who is seeking to play a game of skill while still learning should look to one of these medically-oriented games.

One of the most classic board games which features medicine heavily would be Operation. This game, which has been around since 1965, allows players to simulate a surgical procedure. Much like the wire loop electric games which are popular at fairgrounds, this game tests a player's skill with maneuvering around certain obstacles to complete the task. In the case of this game, however, this takes the form of performing surgery on "Cavity Sam," the poor patient who is being plagued by a number of troubles.

The board is a picture of Cavity Sam laying out on an operating table, with openings in the board to represent different areas of his body which need an operation. Inside of these areas are differently shaped plastic pieces, which are his "afflictions." The object of the game is for the player to use the tweezers to successfully remove the ailment from Sam's body.

The skill level comes into play when you use the metallic tweezers, which are connected to the board with a wire. The edges of the opening in Sam, in turn, are metallic, and if the edges of the tweezers touch the metal side of the opening at any point during the medical extraction, an electric current is completed. This will cause the bright red nose on Sam's body to light up and a buzzing sound is made. This player then forfeits his turn.

The object of the game is to collect the most money by performing successful surgeries on Sam. Each player will draw a card on his or her turn, which lists a certain ailment and the amount of money that the player will receive for successfully performing that surgery. Whichever player, at the end of the game, has earned the most money will win the game.

Infection is another medically-based board game, this one based much on the knowledge one has about different diseases and ailments. This game has players racing around the board, trying to catch different diseases which are left in public places or obtained from other players. If players are then able to make it to a medical station and correctly identify the disease by diagnosing the symptoms, they score points and advance within the game. If a player fails to make a proper diagnosis, he or she is stuck with that disease. They will then have to figure out another approach to curing their disease before it brings them down and out of the game. This game takes a more educational approach than Operation does, while still providing all of the thrill and the fun!

Wildcraft! is an interesting game in this genre. It is a game for 1-4 players, with an age-range of 4 to adult. In this game, children learn about medicinal herbs and plants. The game teaches your children about how to use various herbs and other plants as a means of providing first-aid. So, the knowledge gained from this game may even help save a life someday! As a bonus, owners of the game can download an additional storyline from the company's website.

Board Games Enhanced By Drinking By : Victor Epand

Many games are made just for adults and this article points out some that are mixed with social drinking and board games. The games are enhanced by alcohol and adult company.

Adults, when they get together for an evening, typically like to enjoy themselves by having a few drinks. It often helps loosen up the atmosphere, allowing them to interact and laugh a bit more than normal.

It has long been a traditional part of having a party, whether it be a small, intimate dinner party or a large celebration. Often, games will be broken out during these parties. Seeing how people enjoy both drinking and playing games, it only seems natural that these two forces would team up at points. While anything can typically be made into a drinking game, from watching television to playing cards, some games seem better suited to be paired with drinking than others.

Some board games are made solely for the purpose of drinking. The Keel Over drinking game takes on the form of Jenga, except each block has a specific drinking task labeled on it. Depending on the nature of the task, the player who drew the block will either have to drink or find someone to drink for them.

I've Never... is another great example of a popular drinking game which has been adapted into a great board game. This game works on the premise of the popular "Never Have I Ever" game, in which players start with a certain number of points, then in turn list something which they have personally never done. Every time that someone lists something which a particular player has done, they lose a point and normally have to take a drink. The I've Never... board game takes this premise and, when paired with drinking, turns it into a hilarious opportunity to laugh and learn more about the friends who one is playing the game with.

Additionally, one can find board games which are specifically designed for various drinking games. These can be games which involve tricks with cards, juggling, drawing, or various word games. These packages usually give you a set of 25, 50, or even maybe 100 different drinking games that one can play, usually with a set of all the tools that one needs to play the games.

These packages present a wonderful opportunity for players to compete against each other in a social setting while still enjoying the effects of the alcohol in a safe environment. These games allow for people to focus their attention and energy on something positive and group-affirming, instead of encouraging them to grow bored and potentially get involved in something more destructive.

Drinking games do not have to be separate games, however, for many existing games can easily be adapted into a drinking game. Both Chess and Checkers are popular with drinking games, substituting the pieces used for shots of liquor. When any piece is lost, the person controlling that piece is forced to drink.

This makes the game harder, in turn, as it forces players to concentrate more on the task at hand. As the concentration levels drop, the game will often become more fun because players will make more obvious mistakes and find it humorous. Drinking games are a great way to grow closer to people around you, while still providing something safe and fun as an outlet for attention.

The Specialized World Of Miniatures By : Victor Epand

In the specialized worlds of miniatures, people learn how to live their alternate life and to win. Miniatures offer players a role playing life where they must compete against others in a life that is created by the board.

There are some role playing games where you play with the help of miniatures on any series of maps. These games are built around a series of skirmishes that take place in a given location. The game setup pits two players against each other, each controlling one side of a warring army. They fight the battle out in the mapped location and whichever player wins the battle will win the game. The game itself has become rather popular, with sales growing into the millions. It is actually the second-highest selling product of the company who manufactures the game.

The skirmish works well for two players who are looking for just a quick game without having to get involved in the entire world of dungeons and dragons. A Dungeon Master is not needed for a miniatures skirmish game, meaning that game play can continue much faster than a traditional D&D game. The traditional battle rules have been simplified, allowing to players to accomplish more in one turn than they ever could before.

The game takes place on any number of boards, or maps which are made of tiles, which represent a five square foot area. The starter set will usually include a basic map allowing for game play, but any number of locations can be purchased in fantastic location expansion books. These books will set out a new type of adventure book, giving a new storyline and even potentially a special set of rules to play by as well as four additional maps to play on. Three of these maps are always legal for tournament use, while the fourth map will provide a great location for fun or role-playing use.

The miniatures themselves are available in collectible packs, with collectors finding certain pieces by random. Each piece is given a level of availability, with some pieces being commonly found, others are uncommon, and then a select few pieces are deemed to be rare. The more rare that apiece is, the more valuable it is, both within the game and its worth in real life. Different sets offer collectors the chance to get a number of different pieces.

Most sets are released with 60 different pieces at a time, with a mix of those pieces being rare, uncommon, and common. They can boost the number of pieces that any collector can use within the game, making each game have a great potential for any number of things to happen.

Additionally, booster packs are available, which offer collectors the chance to buy a smaller number of miniatures to add to their collection. These booster packs are most often related to any of the certain sets that were released, giving collectors the chance to know what the general types of miniatures that they might be buying are. This allows any of the players a chance to craft an army based on certain sets, which they happen to prefer more than others, and allows each player to customize the game as they see fit.
